July 4th may be in the rear view but America 250 celebration events and patriotic activities are still in full swing! From fireworks to carnivals to special America 250 presentations, there are plenty of ways for families to join in the red, white, and blue fun in Nanuet-Pearl River-Sparkill and Rockland County this summer.

Event Highlights:


Stony Point America's 250th Birthday Carnival Celebration

When: July 8, 9, 10, 11

Where: Patriot Hills Drive, Stony Point

Details: Celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday with a spectacular carnival at Patriot Hills Drive.  Featuring music, dance, food, rides, games, fireworks and MORE!

Clarkstown Patriotic Drone Show and West Point Band Concert

When: July 9

Where: Felix Festa Middle School, West Nyack
Details: Experience a spectacular sky display of 400 illuminated drones and a live performance by the West Point Band. Concert starts at 8pm and the drone show begins at approximately 9:15pm. Food will be available for purchase. No reserved seats - bring your blankets and lawn chairs.

Patriotic Princess Brunch at The '76 House

When: July 11

Where: The '76 House, Tappan
Details: Celebrate America's 250th birthday a family-friendly buffet brunch at this beloved historic tavern, complete with princess crafts, photos with the Princesses and more!

247th Anniversary of the Battle of Stony Point

When: July 18

Where: Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site, Stony Point
Details: Reenactors will present musket firings and other military and camp demonstrations throughout the day. 

Rockland and the Revolution, A 250th Anniversary Exploration

When: Wednesdays–Fridays & Sundays, 12–4 pm, now through October 26

Where: The Historical Society of Rockland County, New City 
Details: A good option for older kids, this exhibit takes a closer look at Rockland and the Revolutionary War through the eyes of the local historians and using artifacts like original muskets, maps, and spy stories.

Revolutionary Rockland: A Self-Guided Tour and Raffle, presented by the Library Association of Rockland County

When: Now through September 8

Where: Select Rockland County Museums, Parks, and Points of Interest 

Details: Pick up (or download) a "Revolutionary Rockland" road trip guide from any Rockland library, visit at least five spots, and return your completed log to your local library between May 26 and Sept. 8 to enter a raffle for some "revolutionary" prizes! Among the highlights are the Orangetown Historical Museum & Archives, the DeWint House in Tappan, and the Treason Site of Hudson River Greenway Trail in Haverstraw.
